My name is Deborah or Deb for short. My career in care came about after being my expartner's full time carer for 7 years. Unfortunately the relationship ended. It paved the way to where I am today. I worked as a community/domicilliary support worker for 11 months. I ambition was to move into a residential facility. In October 2018 I started work as a support worker/healthcare assistant in a complex needs facility. Service Users I work with have a wise range of complex needs including acquired brain injury, Huntingtons, spinal injuries, late stage dementia, and mental health illnesses. I work with service users who, due to their illness lack capacity and can be behaviourally challenging.
