I'm a 38 years old woman originally from Hungary who's more or less always worked as a software developer until now, but I find it in many ways unsatisfying as a career. I recently moved back to the UK (I lived/worked here before for about 7 years and I'm completely fluent in English) and as I'm very empathic by nature, don't have my own family and have modest needs, I can live off a care worker's pay comfortably. I have my own IT project and would want to dedicate more time to it in my off time from care work as well - this is my long term plan. Apart from my recent 1month+ experience in a nursing home I also have a Healthcare Assistant training certificate from the City Gate Training Centre in London, which included a 2 week care home placement and 3 other day-long care related training courses from when I considered changing careers before. I found both my care home placement and working in the nursing home deeply meaningful. I have practice in personal care, manual handling, bed-baths/showering, giving meals and oral care also from helping care for my grandmother with dementia and I have volunteered in London care homes some years ago. Recently I gained experience in hoisting as well. ...

My name is Antonia. I am 60 years old and in very good health and do not feel it at all. I very much have the opinion age is just a number and should not define you. I have a young outlook on life and will have a go at most things. I live in France and am looking to find work for a four/six weeks on and two weeks off basis in the UK. I am British so no problem with being able to work in UK. I live in the Auvergne area of France, not a very well know area of France by most people in the UK which is a pity as it is a very beautiful area with stunning scenery. Where I live it is so different to life in the UK possibly what the UK was 60 years ago. There is not all the rushing about and the roads are not full of potholes etc and crime, well where we are, I do not think there is any. You do not have to lock things up or be scarred on people breaking into things. I have 3 children 2 daughters that live in the UK and a son that lives with us in France. My two daughters, the eldest one works for an insurance company in a management role, the other younger daughter in the caring profession as a radiography assistant although in September she will be going to university to do paramedic training. My son will be going to university in France in September of this year for a 5 year Masters course in Sports Science. He is fluent in both french and english and it is amazing to see him able to just jump from one language to another. So I am very pleased that he has been able to do this. Plus it will be a good thing for what ever he does in the future. I have a very compassionate and caring nature. I like helping people and have a lot of patience. As part of being a live in carer I am there to help people live the life they want. So what ever I can do to enable them to do that I will. I am a very organized person and keep a very tidy house. I have a very positive mind set and believe in if you want something you have to be pro-active and go get it. I am looking to find work very soon perhaps as early as April. I have done a lot of care work about 15 years ago. I have worked in residential homes, nursing homes, phychiatric homes, hospitals, in clients own homes and I have also worked as a child minder. Although all this was a long time ago I am sure it will be easy to pick up again. I have worked as a live in carer from November 2016 to February 2017 and am now looking for a new position. The live in position I had was fine but the lady was extemely deaf and very difficult to communicate with. I was able too. But it did not make for very good conversations plus she was very much confined to the house. She was a lovely lady but I felt very lonely and cut off where I was. So ideally would like to work with a client who likes to go out and about and I am able to converse with. November 2016 I had my DBS done and now having it done again as I did not know about the update service at the time. I have also had my French one done as well. Plus I have insurance in place. I do not drive and I realize that may be a problem for some people. Because of this I would prefer to work somewhere where I am not cut off. Preferably a town so there is more to do on my breaks. I love to dance, like walking in the countryside, reading, cooking and just generally like to be around people. I also love to travel, animal lover. We have had quite a lot of workaways stay with us and I really enjoy this. Finding out about so many new people. We have made a lot of long lasting friends by doing this. My training is up to date. It includes:- Medications Moving and Handling Theory Hand Hygiene Infection Control Safeguarding of Children Dementia Equality and Diversity Fire Safety Mental Capacity Act Food Hygiene Lone Working Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) Safeguarding of Vulerable Adults (SOVA) Healthcare Health and Safety The Care Certificate ...
