I believe I can bring my own experiences as well as work experience I have from completing placements, paid work in a care home and looking after my mother. I am a hard working, caring and patient individual who has a genuine desire to help people. I have previous experience caring for my late mother who had learning difficulties, diabetes and arthritis. My main duties were performing personal care, cooking and preparing meals and accompanying her to doctors appointments. As part of my role I had to be empathetic, patient and understanding and show a lot compassion as a vast majority of the service users had dementia and other complex health needs. ...

I have been working in Adult Social Care (with the NHS and local authority) for 26 years, supporting elderly individuals and adults with a learning disability in a variety of settings. I have obtained an NVQ2 and CQF3. It continues to be a most rewarding career. I will be free from october, as i have decided I would very much like to work as a live in carer.
