I strongly believe in the idea of caring for someone in their own home. It allows me to build a meaningful and rewarding one to one relationship with those in need of my care and to build the trust necessary for a successful care relationship. Doing live in care work is rewarding for me in the sense that it allows me to see the tangible, positive difference I am making in someone’s life and also helps me better understand the likes and dislikes of the person I am caring for, It allows me to focus on the “small Stuff” that really matters to those who need my support. My 6 years working experience as a Live-in carer and training has prepared and equipped me well and has most importantly taught me the importance of maintaining the comfort and dignity of clients. I am a well presented, mature self-employed British carer/housekeeper with over 17 years nationwide experience of temporary live-in assignments, both private sector and agency related. Enhanced DBS on registered update service, carer liability insurance, registered UTR number. Annual mandatory skills updated with Health & Safety Group. Non-smoker, car owner, excellent cook. Have lived in the north west for 8 years but originally from the south coast. I cared for my own mother during the 80s/90s, and was a waking night carer in a residential care home prior to undertaking full live-in care for clients in their own homes. My original career was in estate agency in East Sussex for 20 years. Interests include classical/jazz, radio/presenting, reading, antiques and cooking. As I am now technically semi-retired, I am currently seeking short term assignments/rota bookings on a light personal care/companionship basis and not complex/heavy duty posts. I always wanted to work in an environment where I can innovate and find my own solution to challenge. I have full experience in live in care over 5 years,dealing to with dementia clients. I’m 55 years old, very happy go lucky person, love all animals especially cats/dogs. I’m also ex firefighter many years in cosmetic retail business. I at present work part time as driver for an exclusive private school here in Devon. I cared for a wonderful Italian lady but sadly lost her 3 months ago, her sons I know will give excellent references ...
