From 2000 - 2009 I have worked as a live-in care worker with elderly clients but also young clients with cerebral palsy or tetraplegia, although it was mostly elderly with some level of dementia. Presently I receive benefits in Holland and as they have been cutting back on care -and care and nursing jobs all over Holland it is hard for me to find work here. That had me wondering, to try and go back to live-in care in the UK. ...

I am an honest reliable man. I have almost 3 years experience in adult health & social care. (I have achieved a level 3 NVQ.) I am experienced in mental health & learning difficulties. I also have experience with offenders & drug misuse. I have previously worked on a 1-1 basis living in for almost 9 months, this was with a gentleman that had mental health issues & a criminal background. This involved updating care plans, assisting in the community & recording all events. I also have experience as a shift leader & a support worker in a supported living complex for up to 18 residents. They all had very different needs. I am seeking another long term placement where I can support someone with their day to day life. ...

I have been working as a carer since 2006. I have gained a lot of work experience over the years. I initially started working in domiciliary care settings then moved on to nursing home jobs where I cared for elderly clients who had dementia learning disabilities and other mental health problems. And slowly moved to mental health jobs worked in supported living homes for years supporting mentally ill patients and for the past few years, have been doing live-in care jobs. For the past 10 years or so, I have been living in the care jobs. I am very understanding, and caring, always put myself in my clients' shoes to better understand their needs and problems. I am very patient and hard-working. I enjoy cooking and enjoy doing activities with clients as per the requirements. I have experience working as a live-in carer for nearly over 10 years now. I believe I have gained a wealth of valuable experience throughout my career and after much thought I feel ready for a new challenge. I am keen to utilise my current range of skills, knowledge and experience whilst at the same time gaining new experiences and skillsets in the process. I enjoy new environments and challenges and am looking forward to working in a new housekeeping position within a private home.
