Looking for a new challenge, Hello, I am an active single mom with 2 boys age 23 twins, have a dog and six cats stray ones. Presently working for a lovely lady, but due to her poor health, she must go into a nursing home. I have a great sense of humour and maturity; I am caring, a compassionate, calm and responsible person with good convincing power. Also, I cared for my father who suffered from Dementia for the past six years, and it is this experience more than any other that has reinforced my commitment to providing quality care for the aged. This personal experience has provided me with invaluable insight into the needs of the aged and the importance of providing them with the nurturing, respect and comfort that they deserve Below are few of my skills I gained on the job; Assisted patients with daily functions. Monitored fluid intake and output levels. Completed all daily living tasks to enhance the quality of life of elderly patients. Partnered with the team of registered nurses to achieve overall wellbeing of all patients. Engaged patients with games, crafts, cooking, music, reading and other activities. Accurately recorded and reported test results according to established procedures. Performed direct patient care aimed at increasing comfort, and psycho, social and spiritual well-being by assisting with personal hygiene, physical support, nutrition, elimination, prevention of skin breakdown, rehabilitation and safety. I took advantage of opportunities for continuing education, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities. Maintained accurate records of patient care, condition, progress and concerns. I responded appropriately to the physical, emotional and developmental needs of patients. Obtained information about clients’ medical history, drug history, complaints, and allergies. I maintained a clean, healthy and safe environment. Documented objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Reported any unusual circumstances in the patients’ condition or the environment. Helped residents with programming goals and increasing their independence. I also have a vast range of interests, from cooking to reading, travelling, board games, horseback riding and so on. All those things combined make me a good carer. ...
