As a volunteer and a health care giver I started as a teenager in 1995 – 1997 I cared for a man who was dementia before I left to leave with my grandmother. Having leaved and assisting my grandmother who was aged [75 years] for over 3 years [1997 – 2001]. Also when my mother was struck with stroke, aged [64 years] I took care of her till death came after 2 years of battle with stroke [2003 – 2005]. In the year 2009 when my aged father was unable to be moving around because of sickness I stood in as a care giver before death came at aged [90 years]. 2009 – 2011. In 2017 I volunteer is assisting neighbors who had no one to assist their aged parents at home. In my role as a volunteer during my university days in the EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT as a small unit in a group. I was saddled with the responsibilities of visiting the needy ( both men, women, old, young, children) that are vulnerable in the society just to ensure they are better off, and also helping in emergency situations in terms of accidental individuals, to help them out. I am very sure this experience will help me pick up a new skill and easily excel as a care worker in your company. Everyone calls me Ella. Love working with people, have discovered my calling working in a dementia care home and then moving onto domiciliary care. I get satisfaction from making a difference in each of our clients lives, get to know them, their history, likes and dislikes, making sure they’re safe, medication is administered correctly, provide personal care and house work, cooking and always make time for a chat and a laugh.
