I have a 19 year old special needs daughter with a rare chromosome deletion, severe learning disability, global developmental delay, limited speech and language skills, sensory processing difficulties; I have cared for her all her life and she is now in a residential school and she now spends 1 weekend a month at home with my husband and I, she is 2:1 support; She needs help with washing, dressing, meal preparation, loading the fork/spoon, time to process information for transitions, she is doubly incontinent and needs regular changes of clothes, she sometimes displays challenging behaviour, she enjoys trips out in the car to sit in the car and watch the sea, she is easily overwhelmed and is now 100% CHC/NHS funded, I help to manage her finances and make sure she has everything she needs.
