I've worked as an EA, PA and office manager for years. I feel that there are a lot of transferable skills to the role of a carer in terms of helping to provide an organised foundation for others, to help remove stress and problems, to anticipate peoples needs and proactively sort potential issues. I'm drawn to care also from having seen the quality of the friendship my grandfather had with his carer and how this vastly improved his later years. Providing care, companionship and support for others is deeply rewarding. I have direct experience of caring for my partner with cancer, this gave me hands on experience with medication management, toileting and hygiene support.
