My name is Catherine WAirumbi. I live in Glasgow. I have a lot of experience as I have been a carer in various settings. I have worked in care homes, nursing homes, in the community as a support worker. I have done live-in care as well. During my working experience I have worked with clients with different needs, elderly, frail, palliative care, learning disability, clients with epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson one to one etc. I also have learnt skills that are required for care, giving personal care, feeding, stoma bag care, Cather care, medication. I am an experienced creative carer with an outgoing personality, great communication skills and a passion for caring for others. Multi-skilled and self motivated with a dedication for providing personal and physical care on a one-to-one basis. Having nursed my daughter though Anorexia successfully I have developed a deep understanding of nutrition and the Hippocrates ethos of healthy body, healthy mind: 'Let food be thy medicine.' I also have a keen interest in Herbs and Kitchen Gardening. Using initiative to develop effective solutions to problems with an active, creative and dynamic approach to work and getting things done efficiently, unsupervised, and holistically as can possibly be realised.
