I hereby apply for the position of Live in carer/Health care Assistant within your Organization. I have worked as a part time Health Care Assistant for a family whose 72-year-old father suffered a stroke. I assisted him with basic needs which included getting him out of bed in the morning and bathing him. I also assisted with the preparation of his meals and feeding. My primary role was to act in the best interest of the client and allowing him to make his own decisions and honouring his requests. The role that remains closest to my heart and the one that made me become a carer was taking care of my mother who was diagnosed with Dementia among other health complications a few years ago and required assistance with bathing, feeding, mobility, medication, companionship as well as attending to all of her other needs. I also drove her and her elderly peers from our community to Church every Sunday. ...

I have been working in the care industry for about 15 years. This has included work in Nursing Homes, Community Care and as a Live in Carer. Also nanny for SEN children. I have been caring for family members for most of my life as well. My professional work has covered dementia and stroke patients and other specialist areas such as autism, brain injuries and general learning difficulties. I have worked with the elderly and young in general care roles and enjoy the variety of work ultimately wanting to improve peoples' lives.
