I am a compassionate caregiver companion with experience working with children and serving chronically ill patients including assisting with daily living activities and household tasks. I hold an elderly care assistant certificate and with First Aid. I also did voluntary work at an old age home to further my skill base and experience. My extensive experience has allowed me to develop substantial care-giving skills and am therefore able to assist families with general care of their loved ones and those vulnerable (children & elders). Hi my name is Martin and for the last 8 yrs I've been a homemaker and the main carer for my 8 year old daughter; with my partner working. For 4 of those years I was also doubled as the main carer for my father in law and have since gone on to do voluntary work for the North Glasgow Food Initiative(NGFI). I helped set up the local health walk group in Milton of which I'm a walk leader. I have invested in learning new skills and completed the COSCA counselling skills course in October 2020. Early this year I also completed a first aid course which was facilitated by NGFI. As the homemaker in my family I do the majority of the shopping, cooking, washing, Ironing and cleaning. I enjoy running, walking, Tai Chi, reading and I'm trained as a level 2 Reiki practitioner. I'm a non-smoker and non- drinker. I have a clean driving licence and own a car. My partner now works from home and my other daughters (who is 21) lives at home and this now allows me to seek paid work. ...

I came to the United Kingdom in 2014 after being recruited in Portugal by a UK care company. I was trained in all aspects of community care work visiting clients in their own homes. I learnt a lot about various types of medical conditions, how to assist clients in a variety of settings and the administrative side of care work. As I am keen to learn as much as I can about all different aspects of caring I went on to work in a residential care home focusing on dementia patients. As part of this ongoing learning I then became a live in carer to give me greater overall knowledge of all aspects of caring. I have become very interested in more specialised care work particularly in spinal care, for that reason I came to Bristol an worked with spinal injuries as a live in carer. When my family came to live in Bristol, I couldn't work as a live in so I went back to work in the community. At the moment I am working in Hospitals with Agency work, so I have quite some availability. I would like to find some part time as a live in carer and to help people in their own homes. ...
