I have enjoyed some aspects of live-in care work with elderly clients since December 2020 very much. I have been lucky to spend time with clients who tried to be active with me in spite of their health and mental condition, to go out again for short walks or even try some gentle stretching dancing with me. Most clients seem to have a love and hate relationship with me and I am grateful for the happy times. I try to avoid excessive ruminating and create a safe space for positive interactions if possible and connect with people through feelings where logic is no longer present. I have been working as a carer with seniors and with wheelchair users both in private and care home settings and I have encountered various physical and mental conditions resulting from lack of movement, ageing and limited control over one’s environment. I like exercise, walks, cooking, doodling, listening to radio podcasts and music and sometimes watching nature documentaries and movies. ...
