Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and I am an experienced male carer who is hard working, polite and fluent in English. Originally from South Africa I enjoy Wilbur Smith, outdoor activities such as golf, walking, tennis, body boarding, swimming and gardening. I love animals, especially labradors (I don't mean to be biased of course, but they really are such special creatures). I have a practical and logical mind, but also an emphatic and understanding heart. I started caring following my father's terminal cancer diagnosis where I looked after him until he sadly passed on. I also enjoy rugby and motorsports. I have the following experience; spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, brain stem stroke, tetraplegia, lung cancer, COPD, palliative care, Parkinson's, Alzheimers, vascular dementia, dementia with lewy bodies, Asperger's, autism, catheter care, conveen care, hoists and manual handling equipment of a broad range, personal care, commodes, attendant controlled wheelchairs, driving wheelchair accessible vehicles, oxygen machines, feeding, medication administration, cooking, companionship, suction machines, etc... I am a 62 year old Scottish lady with more than 25 years in the care industry. The last 15 years, providing live in care with Alzeimers/Dementia care. I was with my last client, a wonderful Gentleman from Hanwood Shrewsbury for 6 years & 10 months until he sadly but I have a wealth of all types of Dementia Care, I am extremely knowledgable with all stages. I would in general, provide or assist with all aspects of personal care, grooming & dressing requirements. I take great pride in my clients appearance. I am a reasonably good cook and provide my clients with nutritious, tasty meals and snacks, with lots of little treats in between. I would normally launder my clients clothes & bedding & housework. I have been driving for 42 years with a clean licence. I have a current CRB I'm limited as to what information I'm able to provide on this format.
