Hello. My name is Favour Chibuzor. I am a 22 year old female Nigerian. I studied Biochemistry in Covenant University and graduated with a Second Class Honors Lower Division. Loving people is something I do effortlessly. This is my reason for choosing this career. Before I considered caregiving, I wanted to be a medical doctor but I had a hard time in school, so I began to search for jobs I can easily do while still feeling fulfilled. My passion for caregiving grew after I graduated from the university in August, this year. I began taking courses online to expand my knowledge and obtained the following certificates from coursera: The Challenges of Modern Caregiving Certificate presented by The University of Colorado Boulder Social Services for Families, Seniors and Those with Disabilities Certificate presented by Columbia University Psychological First Aid Certificate presented by Johns Hopkins University I understand that caregiving majorly requires patience and compassion, these qualities which I possess will help me perform excellently as a caregiver. As a graduate of Biochemistry, I have gained knowledge of basic medical terminologies and understand common disorders, giving me an advantage in my desired field of care. I have one year of informal care experience with my grandfather who had prostate cancer. I have also worked voluntarily as a primary school class teacher as this would give me the necessary expertise I need if I am required to care for children in the future. I am a hardworking, positive minded and jovial girl. In my spare time, I write songs or sing along with music lyrics from YouTube. I also enjoy journaling and nature photography. I speak English fluently and have obtained a Band 7 in the UKVI IELTS. If I am considered a good fit for this job, I would require a Certificate of Sponsorship as I do not reside in the UK. I will be able to relocate to the UK after four weeks if given the opportunity to work with your esteemed organization. Thank you. ...

I have enjoyed some aspects of live-in care work with elderly clients since December 2020 very much. I have been lucky to spend time with clients who tried to be active with me in spite of their health and mental condition, to go out again for short walks or even try some gentle stretching dancing with me. Most clients seem to have a love and hate relationship with me and I am grateful for the happy times. I try to avoid excessive ruminating and create a safe space for positive interactions if possible and connect with people through feelings where logic is no longer present. I have been working as a carer with seniors and with wheelchair users both in private and care home settings and I have encountered various physical and mental conditions resulting from lack of movement, ageing and limited control over one’s environment. I like exercise, walks, cooking, doodling, listening to radio podcasts and music and sometimes watching nature documentaries and movies. ...
