When I first came across this role, I was drawn to it by the salary. After reading the details more carefully, I realised it offers far more than that. It is a role built on trust, dignity and helping someone live life on their own terms, and that is what made me want to apply. This would be my first Personal Care Assistant position, but I bring relevant experience. For three years I delivered an NHS service supporting people with nicotine dependence, including clients in mental health and substance misuse settings. Many of these clients had their own support workers, and I worked alongside them to plan and coordinate support that helped each person make lasting progress.
