I have been working as a self-employed Social Care Worker since August 2017. I have extensive experience with a range of clients and their needs included inter alia Companionship; Dementia (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Vascular, Lewes Body); all personal care; and household needs. I’ve worked with couples as well as individuals and alongside other Care Workers when Manual Handling/Night Care was required. I also specialize in Palliative/End of Life Care. My cooking and baking skills are very good and I am able to provide a varied menu based on the client’s needs. I continue to keep up to date with the training required for the Social Care Wales diploma; MOOC Australia Understanding Dementia; as well as other relevant short courses on SocialcareTV. Just by way of my background before I “retired”… I worked in the Tourism Industry for my entire career achieving the position of Human Resources Director for a large South African company, Bidvest. I went on to open my own training school offering technical and management development programmes which I developed and trained myself. I also worked extensively with SA Tourism on a variety of National training programmes. I have 3 children – Daniel, Sarah, and Mistral – and 2 delightful dogs. Sarah is also a Carer I enjoy nature and am an avid bird watcher and I love fishing. I love spending time in the bush with my family. I read extensively and thoroughly enjoy my crosswords and codewords. I enjoy playing cards and watching interesting documentaries on TV. I love travelling when I can as I have always venturing to new places and learning about new cultures. ...

I like working as a carer because I have inner skills to do so. I am very caring and homely person. I love keep a nice environment. I believe that the most important skill is respecting person choices and likes, in order to avoiding them to become vulnerable. I have really good skills to build up trustworthy relations on which they are based on respect and confidentiality . I am very creative and lively person but respecting relaxing breaks too. I love to attend to different kind of social activities related to cinema, art, theater, as I believe It is a good way to sympathize with other people's circumstances as well as a break and a good time too. ...
