My experience of five years working in private care homes, mental health institutions and home-based care has made me embrace care work as a very fulfilling profession. Hello, I am a registered nurse, I have been qualified for 10 years in September, I currently work night shifts at the local hospital and have done for almost 10 years. I LOVE making a positive difference to my patients lives and helping them with whatever it is that they need. I am looking for a new direction to take my caring/nursing career now. I have not been a live in carer before but I feel I have the skills that would be required and I am willing to learn any extra skills that I may be lacking. Over the past 10 years I have looked after many patients with long term conditions and I am confident with long term catheters, PEG tubes, any kind of stoma etc. I also just enjoy being with my patients, as a source of comfort and companionship if that is what they need at the time. ...
