I am an experienced, practical and dependable carer, currently providing private home care in France. Over the years I have cared for people with dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke, reduced mobility and a range of complex, overlapping needs. My experience in NHS A&E, with the British Red Cross and in emergency response has taught me to stay calm, notice when something isn’t right and adapt when a person’s needs change.
I understand that people needing live-in care often have polymorbidity, so I see the person as a whole, not a collection of conditions. Their happiness, personality, interests, routines and relationships matter just as much as their physical needs. I am comfortable with personal care, medication, catheter care, mobility, cooking and everyday household life. Above all, I believe care should preserve dignity, choice and independence, while bringing companionship, reassurance and some enjoyment to each day.
