Alongside my career in publishing, I spent many years assisting my late parents as their primary caregiver. My dad had Parkinson's Disease and my mum had complex mental health needs resulting from the strain of looking after dad. While I wouldn't categorise this period of my life as 'work', I learned many transferrable skills that I am now looking to use in my second career as a live-in carer. These include administering medications, driving to and attending appointments, assisting with personal care, administrative work, as well as domestic care such as housekeeping, cooking, shopping and so forth. I am a patient and caring individual with a creative and musical background who loves getting to know people. I can supply references through my editorial work and character references too.
