My experience as a Hostel Parent at Hillcrest College and Littlerock International School gave me practical exposure to supporting individuals with emotional, behavioural, social, and personal care needs. In these roles, I was responsible for ensuring safety, monitoring well-being, responding to emergencies, providing emotional support, and maintaining a safe and caring environment for learners from different backgrounds.
In addition to my practical experience, I have completed several Health and Social Care training courses including Level 2 Diabetes Awareness, Level 1 Dementia Awareness, Level 1 End of Life Care, Level 2 Epilepsy Awareness, Safeguarding Adults at Risk, Safeguarding Children, Moving and Handling, Basic Life Support, and First Aid. These courses strengthened my understanding of professional care standards, communication, safeguarding, dignity, and person-centred support.
