I have experience as a live-in carer having supported a man with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy for two years as a private carer; providing person care, administering controlled medication, operating specialist equipment, managing his housework and admin and cultivating a positive supporting friendship. I am literate in professional boundaries, having acquired NCFE certified certificates in behaviour that challenges level 2 and working towards my counselling skills qualifications. This have been pursued because I find purpose in supporting people and promoting growth via the provision of an open and secure space grounded in empathy and non-judgment. This was the environment I occupied in my previous care experience and why I wish to return to live-in care as I deeply enjoy the qualities of a caring relationship and wish to pursue more opportunities of this kind.
