Dear prospective employer

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and CV, which provides a background of my PA experience.
If you have any questions or would like further details about my experience, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would be more than happy to speak with you.

My career as a PA began in 2020 whilst I was completing my degree in naturopathy and herbal medicine. I started working with a team that provided 24/7 care for a client with a C4 spinal injury. I learnt a lot in this role and enjoyed working with others who provided a high standard of care for the client.
Our daily tasks included:

- manual transfers
- administering medication
- monitoring the client's wellbeing in preventing autonomic dysreflexia
- regular timed turns specifically on night shifts (back - side - back) to prevent bed sores and any associated discomforts
- housekeeping/gardening/shopping/cooking/pet care
- companionship/social outings
- GP/hospital visits

The client and I have remained friends, and occasionally I will step in as a PA when needed.

In 2023, my siblings and I had the privilege and honour of providing palliative care for our Father.
This was very much a hands-on role, with practical tasks of:

- liaising with GPs/hospice/domiciliary nurses
- monitoring physical/emotional/mental changes
- changing dressings
- administering medications
- bathing and dressing

At the beginning of 2025, I commenced employment with a woman living with cerebral palsy. The client requires a high level of care due to limitations with speech and mobility. Each day is very different, yet every day the client requires assistance with:

- cooking and eating
- toileting/bathing/dressing
- manual transfers
- communicating with others where required
- regular inventory of the household
- transport for client and family
- housekeeping/gardening/maintenance

I consider each shift an opportunity to build on the prior shift, in a way that best benefits the client, and each shift deepens my understanding of the day-to-day challenges that my client faces. However, there is currently no consistent roster, and as the client has a very busy lifestyle, there are no set daily breaks.

I am now seeking a live-in PA role of a four-to-six-week duration where I can support client/s to live comfortably in their own home.
I enjoy cooking nutritious and wholesome meals that cater to different tastes and have experience cooking gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian. I have experience growing vegetables and flowers, and I am at ease with animals and pets.

I consider myself adaptable, calm under pressure, and self-aware. I value open communication and would like to undertake a course in the near future to develop my communication skills. I like to walk, practice yoga and dance to maintain a strong and healthy body and mind.

Thanks again for taking the time to read.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely
Caroline Weetman
