I have worked in Care for a few years, I was employed by Christies in the UK where I did Live In Work, caring for clients with Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Paralysis and other conditions.
I believe it is vital that clients are in control of their lives and that they feel they are. I am simply by their side to do everything I can to maintain this, so they can live their lives in the way they choose, with dignity, honesty and compassion.
Family scenarios aside I have never felt so valued in my life, the emotional and intellectual rewards available in this work are hard to describe. I have been working in Spain caring for two clients since finishing my tripping work but unfortunately one has now passed and the other, despite his Wife's best efforts is being admitted to a Care Home.
I enjoy continuity and the relationship aspect of the work so ideally I am looking for a position with one or two clients but I am prepared to be flexible.
