My role as a Health care assistant, was to assist with the following needs: I assist patients with their personal hygiene with dignity.Patient’s consent and respect were primary.l made sure they were comfortable , calm and were willing to receive any help l offered.l made sure l understand what their needs were and managed to adapt communication using sound, tones and body language. I assisted them with their everyday tasks, like meal preparations ,household chores, doing a shopping list and doing the shopping. I observed, supported and monitored their healthcare needs,such as checking their vital signs and administering medication.The role allowed me to interact and work with other medical health professionals (Doctors,nurses and Therepists) and other needful professional departments to ensure complete support.
