I became a carer because I enjoy making a difference to people's lives on a daily basis. I have a person centered approach to my work that prioritises my clients. Giving assistance to help them maintain their independence gives me great satisfaction. I have over a decade of experience dealing with clients with various needs including dementia care, support with personal care and mobility issues as well as offering companionship. I’m confident to operate most transfer equipment including ceiling hoists, standing aids,slide sheets and slings to name a few. I am also familiar with catheter care. Previously I’ve worked in hospitals, as a live in carer, in residential/care homes and also domiciliary care supporting clients with recuperation following hospital discharge, prompting and encouraging light , gentle exercises to aid recovery where applicable.
