I'm hardworking, patient, empathetic, and a good listener. My approach with all my clients have been professional and compassionate, and ensuring where possible that they continue to enjoy their hobbies and interests. I have worked with clients with dementia, stroke, parkinsons, chronic illness and also end of life. The skills required were personal care/grooming, medication, cooking, driving, housekeeping and above all making sure clients were happy and comfortable.
My decision to become a carer seemed like a natural progression as I had been taking care of neighbours who found themselves alone since my early twenties.
I have been working as a live-in/respite carer since 2017 and it has been most rewarding, next to being a mother and grandmother. Before that I worked as a PA for a number of corporations in the City. I am also a part time decorator and contemporary art curator. Other interests include reading, cooking which I love, anything outdoors, theatre.
