I pride myself in providing an excellent person-centered care. I always go an extra mile to make sure the person I am caring for feels valued, listened to and loved. Outside of my professional qualifications I have had the privilege of taking care of my family members in their moments of need. In 2011 my auntie (My mum’s immediate sister) was diagnosed with a terminal sickness which prevented her from taking care of herself. During this period, myself and different family members came together to provide companionship and health care for her. I would help with meal preparations, feeding, bed making, medication management and personal care. I also encouraged her to be independent, make her own choices and respect her wishes. My grandma was diagnosed with cancer during the last three months of her life I helped ensure she was comfortable and well cared for.
