Hello, I am Aneta, I am 42, born, bred and educated in Poland. I worked as a secondary school teacher in Warsaw until June 2013.
My life took a turning point in 2012 when both my parents had strokes. My father passed away, my mother survived - I became her full time carer when she needed help. I believe that that difficult time changed my way of thinking - I focused more on here&now. But also, I got a full perspective of caring - as a member of family who reach out for help to care for my mother. I understand the difficult circumstances - of needing help and being protective of family privacy and intimacy.
When I came to England in August 2013, I first helped my dear friend to care for her dying mother. Later, I progressed to work as a live-in carer for different agencies until 2017 when I decided to work in hospital. I have worked in Oxford Hospitals (both medical and mental health) since then. Therefore, I am fully trained in moving and handling, infection control, first aid, dealing with challenging behaviours (I work well with patients who are diagnosed with mental health illnesses or personality disorders), risk assessment, infection control, food safety, safeguarding both children and vulnerable adults.
My experience as a live-in carer covers patients diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, COPD, MND, heart condition, diabetes, after strokes and I provided palliative care. I am confident being a sole carer but also working as a team. I am a neat and organised person - I like clean and tidy. I am a very confident cook - I am happy to cook basic, hearty food, follow diet requirements, go an extra mile and deliver more complicated dishes. You name it - I cook it. My prerogative is to make my patient feel happy and comfortable regardless of the situation.
People who know me - describe me as an optimistic, easy to talk to person. I agree with all that. I love a good conversation and a laugh. I try to look at the bright side of life.
