As a volunteering counsellor, I love taking time to listen to those in my care. Working on client character development requires patience and a lack of prejudice, which I demonstrate in each session held. I am passionate about creating open environments for desired conversations - by being warm, smiley and reassuring, I ensure that all participants feel comfortable.
Working in a fast-paced care environment, I am well versed with accounting for medications, and administering correct dosages as and when needed. I learned the importance of monitoring those who had been given medication, looking for side effects which require the decrease or increase of dosage.
Completing a 4-year Leadership Trainee course, advanced my communication and relationship skills. As a leader I was required to make swift decisions and promote the best solutions for the team. My people-centric nature was evident when encouraging group discussion and utilising each member's strengths to make our work efficient.
