Hello, I have worked professionally as a personal assistant for a young man in his second year of university as a live in carer. He has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and was a fulltime powerchair user, needing use of a hoist for bed routines, shower assistance and changing clothes, drying off post showers, cooking meals for the most part. The company I worked with was AskJules Ltd. I have just returned from a 6-week cycling and train trip from London-Istanbul-London with my quadriplegic friend, which meant helping her everyday with mostly inaccessible trains, buildings and toilets and occasional hot days hand cycling/cycling. I believe she would vouch for me as someone who will listen and act for her like she did with me too. I also like to help my grandmother whenever I am with her, spending time to listen to her, aid her with some of her crusading attempts onto beaches or in a swimming pool. I am capable of long hours, physical fitness is not a problem for me. ...

I’m empathetic, hardworking, honest and genuinely love making people feel happy and comfortable as much as I can. I have cared for my Family Members and most intensely for my Grandfather through Strokes, Cancer and Dementia Alzheimer’s. I have also been very instrumental for My Mothers on-going physical disabilities. I am incredibly interested in caring for others as I believe they deserve to not feel like a burden to the Caring Community and their families and should try to obtain as much support to feel humanised as an individual as much as emotionally possible. ...

Hi My name is Gary and I am originally from Scotland, although I now work with clients all over the UK. After working for 12 years as a mental health support worker, I decided to broaden my horizons within the social care sector and for the past 7 years have worked as a live-in carer. I work in a person-centred way with a broad range of clients and conditions, including: dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental illness, palliative care and end of life care. I provide practical and emotional support to help people live a safe and independent life in their own home and community. This includes medication administration, personal care, continence care, moving and handling using hoists and other aids, cooking, cleaning and of course companionship. I am also happy to support clients to go on holiday at home or abroad (I have a wide experience of travel all over the world) I am also an animal lover, so pets are no problem. I have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a care certificate. I have my own carer liability insurance and I am fully vaccinated, including boosters. My preferred employment type is self employed live-in care. ...
