I am a natural caring and empathetic person, i understand how it must be difficult to not manage general tasks that one had been managing before. I try my best to make them still feel in control and maintain that little independence they still may have. I used to train new health care assistants when i worked in a care home a few years back before I decided to do live in jobs. I an an excellent communicator snd a good listener.
I have looked after adults in their own homes as a live in carer and sometimes did wake nights where a service user or client was restless due to Dementia. I was able to administer medication from the dosage box. I supported the client/service user to maintain a good standard of personal hygiene by washing and bathing them. At night they were on a peg feed and was able to connect the feed for overnight feed.
In previous live in jobs i used to cook meals, do the laundry and keep the house cean and tidy.
