I'm a 53 year old Dutch female with perfect spoken and written English, living in Edinburgh. I have been introduced to the role of carer because my partner of 12 years fell ill, forcing me to scale back my regular working hours and taking care of him.
A while later on, I received help from two carers every morning with his daily routine and I realised what a difference those people made to both our lives. I'd like to become involved in a similar role, assisting people when they can't take care of the business of living anymore. I believe I will be able to help, be discreet and lighten someone's load if at all possible.
