I have worked and still working as a Health Care Assistant at St Giles Association for the handicapped, the elderly, and the disabled, in Johannesburg, South Africa since 2019. I have provided care to disabled adults, the handicapped, and the elderly who cannot perform daily tasks, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, and cancer patients. I have considerable experience in assisting in the implementation of Care plans, Maintaining the comfort and dignity of clients at all times, hoisting clients onto beds and or chairs, administering medications as prescribed by the Doctors, Arranging and accompanying clients to hospital appointments, social activities, and shopping. I help clients to the toilet, bathe, dress them and assist in washing their clothes. I shave their bears and hair. I prepare their meals and assist in feeding them and as well I do light domestic duties in their homes
Here in the home, I assist clients with disabilities, participate in follow-up activities and provide companionship for them. During this time, my primary duty was to act in the client’s best interest while ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines.
I have had a CPD certified training on Managing health safety in health care and currently undergoing training on the basic clinical procedure in a clinic in Alexandra, Johannesburg
By far the most rewarding care experience I have had has been assisting my family in looking after my father. Because of his age and failing health, I spent a lot of time making sure he is peg-fed, bathed, administered his medications, and attended his hospital appointments. I spent time with him maintaining a high level of hygiene within his home, shaving his beard and hair, reading newspapers and books for him, and spending time with him in the garden helping maintain his favorite yellow roses.

Supporting Nurses and Doctors in delivering Outstanding patient care to over 50 patients. I act as one of the key communication point between patients, relatives, carers, and all internal GP staff.
Responsible for and overseeing some administrative operations for the Nursing and Doctoral units.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting the nurses and doctors in patient care, clinical procedures, non-clinical
support and infection control tasks.
• Managing suppliers of health and medical equipment, supplies and services, and
ensuring correct stock levels.
