I am a highly experienced and dedicated carer. I have worked in care homes for over 7 years and worked as live in carer for over 5 years. Most of the patients I have dealt with are elderly with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease, Cancer, Asthma, COPD, Emphysema, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, and other illnesses; and young adults with disabilities. I believe that after 12 years of working in different healthcare settings in UK, I have gained an adequate amount of practical experiences within the care industry. Thus, I am highly qualified in assisting patients in their personal daily activities such as bathing, showering, toileting, grooming, feeding, meal preparation, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, checking blood sugar, changing colostomy bag, Bowel Management, Wound Care, First Aid, Moving and Handling, Therapeutic exercises, promoting mental and social well-being, companionship, housekeeping, sanitation standards and documenting daily activities.
I am caring, compassionate, understanding, hardworking, patience, energetic, flexible, affable, and with positive outlook in life. I adapt easily to change of environment and patient’s situation or condition. I am also able to establish and maintain good rapport with patients, and other healthcare professionals following a plan of care. More so, I have strong analytical skills in critical thinking which is essential in providing competent and dignified patient care.
I prefer to work long term with a day off every week, but not set in stone. My rate is £150/day depends on the condition of the patient, and is negotiable.
