I have always been drawn to the social care field supporting individuals who may be experiencing a difficult time in their lives where they are vulnerable or at risk. I have worked in different environments including restaurants and hotels, as well as the local authority, hospitals and care homes which has allowed me to turn my aptitude for caring into roles where I can make a difference in people's lives. I am very organised and detail orientated and as part of my social work degree, aware of legislation relevant to social care. Furthermore, I have been able to develop a range of skills including active listening skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills which I have been able to utilize to work in an individual's best interests and promote empowerment, anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice.
