I have six years experience caring either through agency work covering staff shortages, as a support worker and also in clinical settings when I qualified in adult nursing. Personal care, assisting with shower, drying, dressing, shaving etc whilst also respecting their dignity and maintaining their independence where possible. Monitoring pressure points and pressure care. Helping with mobility, prompting using walking aids where necessary or using hoists
Overseeing medication according to the care plan. Household chores such as vacuuming, cleaning and laundry. Preparing and cooking meals of client’s choice. Shopping. Updating care plans, reviewing and record keeping. Reporting important details to colleagues to ensure a safe and up to date care for client.
