I really enjoy anticipating the first time I step into a new client’s home & we meet face to face.

From that point on I am guided entirely by them – by their wishes & their needs. With almost 30 years experience as a Carer, I know that within a matter of days, I will be fitting in well. Quite simply care work suits me & I genuinely value being able to lend a hand. I also recognise that it is my job to fit in with my clients & not the other way round! Ultimately, clients themselves are my best teachers.

Early care experiences showed me that time constraints often put too much pressure on carers & ultimately, their clients. Good care takes time. Live-in care now affords me the time & attention to detail, which mean I can perform at my absolute best. On any given day, my aim is to help things run as smoothly as possible, for both my client & myself. It’s a bonus if we can also have a chuckle along the way.
