At 18, I worked as a live-in nanny to 1yr old twins girls. After my wedding, I was the day carer to my husband’s grandma who had moderate Dementia for 8 months (it has advanced to thé severe stage now). I gave her medications, monitored her, made her comfortable, fed and encouraged her.
When we moved out of the state where she lives, I missed her dearly. I felt I loved caring for her because she’s my grandmother by marriage, but in hindsight, I realize that caring for her gave me a sense of purpose.
I strongly believe that humans were created to serve each other.
