I worked for the NHS as a registered Learning Disability Nurse for 30 years.
I worked as a senior manager for 20 of those years managing a multi disciplinary/ multi agency Health and Social Care service including, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and social work. I am familiar with equipment and physical disability needs, Best Interest Decision making, and Capacity issues and was a Safeguarding Lead.
Since retiring early 6 years ago and up until recently, I worked in the Lake District for a lady in her 90’s as a relief carer/companion for up to 3 consecutive days weekly. My duties included all aspects of personal and overnight care, meal preparation, medication, oversight of health needs and facilitating an active and interesting social life for her.
I am conscientious , professional, compassionate, patient, reliable, honest and trustworthy and believe I have a good sense of humour and have a flexible approach to facilitating individual interests.
