I am very honest, compassionate, empathetic able to motivate and giving encouragement, respecting individuals culture and beliefs and awareness of cultural diversity. I also have desire to broaden my experience and knowledge to clients and patients. As a career/support worker I ensure all clients/patients receive high-quality care. I would argue that communication is the most important principle that I adhere to at all times.

I am a skilled and experienced individual with Fourteen (14) years of nursing working experience however, I am no longer practising at the moment. I have provided consistent high quality care to adults and elderly with a range of complex needs requiring long term care intervention.
I worked in a productive environment that has enabled me to function efficiently in delivering a high standard of service. I have developed in my cultural sensitivity, adaptability, clear communication skills and the ability to learn to adapt to different clinical skills quickly and effectively. Growing up and watching my mother's nursing career develop has in many ways given me a passion to help others. As I have worked in different wards including surgical and cosmetic ward, Othepedics Ward, Infection Control Ward, Cardiology and Heart Failure, Medical Ward, Care of the elderly, Rehabilitation, Theatres, Recovery and Admission, HIV Ward, Orthopaedics, Stroke and Neurological Ward, Community and District Nursing; I have developed a wide range of clinical and interpersonal skills.

I have obtained 5 years of Live in Care experience. During these years, l have also acquired all the relevant skills required to be able to offer individuals support and care for those who choose to live in their own homes by caring and making them comfortable by giving them physical and emotional support. I am a team player with excellent communication and professional presentation skills. My existing and previous roles have required a keen attention to detail, creativity and positive thinking. My duties and responsibilities included: Providing support to my patients/clients and helping them in every day duties. Providing stimulation in activities to keep patients motivated. I like taking patients out to different places. I dealt with relatives and helping them to understand what they can do, how they can help etc. I also help with learning and development to my clients. Helping with housing, bills and other personal issues as required. I enjoy teaching them basic duties of how to look after themselves varying on different clients and problems that the clients will be facing in their daily living. I also follow health and safety and policies and procedures very carefully each day. My interest in clients and commitment to helping others has given me the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families. I now have abroad Knowledge of giving emotional support to those who are facing practical difficulties in their daily living by listening and understanding their needs. I have an empathetic approach to clients. Ensuring clients’ medication and care plans followed as per client centred care plan. I enjoy helping people from all walks of life and I’m fascinated by the inner workings of the mind, I believe that a career as a counsellor is the right path for me. Having completed my Level 3 counselling course last year, I learnt that counselling may be challenging as it needs to be person specific. What works for one individual may or may not work for another. This is one of the reasons I have decided to enter the field of counselling.
