My name is Amy and I am currently looking to work in care. Many years ago I worked as a live out assistant and supported individuals in their homes across London. Recently, I have been supporting older clients in their homes, covering for other carers and remembered how much I enjoyed this work. My approach would be client centred, giving just enough support to enable them to maintain their independence and dignity, so that they remain comfortable and secure at home. Additionally I have personal experience living with my grandmother for 10 years who was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia.
In the past, I facilitated art workshops in care homes. The main focus of these classes was to lower stress and anxiety through artmaking, to have some fun and to strengthen the sense of community and bonds between residents.
In my free time I also like to paint and draw or go out for a walk in nature to help me relax. I enjoy cooking, socialising and reading. I am looking for a long term role.
