I'm currently looking for a career change & want to have a more fulfilling role. I'm currently working in a call centre & I'm attracted to care work, as I would like to offer support to an older person so they can maintain their independence & dignity. One positive thing that has come from Covid 19 is that it has highlighted the impact of social isolation, so people are more empathetic towards older people, who are always socially isolated. Now that my boys have grown up, I have more freedom & would liked to be considered for a live in carer role. I've been a single parent for 17 years & have raised my sons completely alone. I also cared for my disabled husband when he was alive. I would like to have more formal skills in care, so I can enjoy a more varied & challenging role, that enriches another persons life.
