I have many years experience in social care. I initially looked after my mum full time when she became ill. When she passed away, I knew I had to make a 'difference' to other people's lives and started work in a residential care home. I was promoted to a senior, then deputy and have now been a Registered Care Home Manager for many years. I am passionate about providing the best person centred care and treat all my residents as I would my own 'mum'. The responsibilities of being a Home Manager of a 54 bed residential home is enormous , which I don't mind. However, the responsibilities mean I am more 'office based' and having to meet 'targets' and regulations set by both my provider and regulated authority CQC. I am passionate about 'care' and providing the best possible care which I feel I am unable to achieve whilst completing regulatory requirements . I am looking for a change in my career whereby I can give outstanding 1-1 care.
