I am 40 years old and a CDP® Certified Dementia Practitioner. Born in Poland but “Made in Britain,” I came to England at the age of 20 and began my career at an RMBI nursing home in Surrey. This is where my journey in caring truly began.
Over the past 20 years, I have provided live-in care for many families, bringing comfort, companionship, and personalised support to clients living with dementia. I have spent hundreds of afternoons “bringing home” agitated dementia patients, applying non-pharmacological methods, and through this work, I have grown personally and discovered my life’s calling.
I am forever grateful to the white-haired ladies and gentlemen who allowed me to share in their lives, shaping the caregiver I am today. Nowadays, my passion is effective communication with clients, helping them feel heard, understood, and safe.
While my hands-on experience spanning two decades is my greatest qualification, I also hold the following certificates:
11/2019: Adult Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England)
06/2019: CDP® Certified Dementia Practitioner®
05/2019: Montessori Inspired Lifestyle® Senior Certificate (Centrum Montessori)
09/2009: Edexcel Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Adults)
04/2016: SPECAL® Pro course at Centre of Excellence Contented Dementia Trust
I am committed to maintaining my professional skills and ensuring that my training remains current. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my 20 years of experience, dedication, and passion for dementia care can contribute to your team.
Best regards,
Malwina M. Gawron
