For the last 3 months I have been caring for a elderly gentleman in his own home maintaining comfort and dignity at all times promoting choice and independence. Previous to this placement I spent three years caring for my father on a live in basis who suffered from dementia and was also a diabetic. Support given was for personal care, medication, health appointments, meals, shopping and all aspects of maintaining a home.
I believe I have excellent personal care skills and a high level of commitment to my work, offering essential qualities in many areas to provide companionship supporting individuals in their own homes. Recently updated my mandatory training: Mental Capacity, Fire Training, First Aid awareness, Skin Care, Moving & Handling Theory, Health & Safety, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Infection Control, Food Hygiene, Safe Administration of Medicines. I am willing to do any further training and qualifications.
