My name is Adriaantje but you can call me Annelies. I am a self-employed experienced live-in carer.
I am 60 years young, healthy, fit, and open to fun. I am Dutch, but have been living in South Africa for a long time. I am married to Louis and have 3 adult daughters and 7 grandchildren, who are spread over South Africa, England, and Germany.
I have the right to work in the UK, and all paperwork is up to date. I am a confident driver and have experience in driving wheelchair-adapted vehicles. I am in the process to exchange my South African driving license to a UK one and hoping to get this soon.
I am a highly qualified Registered Nurse in the fields of General, Community, and Psychiatric Nursing. I am also a midwife.
I started working as a live-in carer in the UK 10 years ago,
for anything between 6-10 weeks at a time, 3-4 times a year.
I am compassionate, friendly, hardworking, and have
loads of patience. I am hands-on, practical, and organised.
I absolutely love the work and strive for my client to enjoy
their life to the fullest potential. My main experience has
been with clients with dementia, early and advanced stages, clients with physical limitations ie spinal cord injury,
muscular dystrophy, and CP, strokes, brain injury and clients with heart conditions. To provide personal care and
grooming is of utmost importance to me. I probably go a bit over the top when it comes to cleaning. Hygiene in the kitchen and toilet / bathroom is a must to me. I love cooking and baking, provide nutritious meals according to the client’s preferences.
I enjoy music, nature, walking, crafts, sport, regular exercise like yoga / pilates and swimming. I started cold water swimming about 4 years ago and love it! I am also a huge animal lover!
