I always encourage clients to do as much for themselves as possible, whilst assuring them that I am on hand for support if required. l show clients that I understand what needs doing, but highlight that the choice is always theirs. I try to promote my clients' independence and help them to continue or to gain the ability to do more for themselves over time. I always ensure that my clients are cared for in a safe environment and reassure them that their well-being is my prime concern.
