I have worked as a Carer for more than a decade, looking after predominately older clients in a variety of settings, including care homes, hospice, domiciliary and live-in, on both both employed and self-employed bases, and now specialise in short fixed-term live-in assignments, providing occasional cover for holiday, etc.
I have been privileged to work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and with conditions including dementia, stroke, cancer, heart disease, COPD, motor neurone disease, epilepsy, diabetes, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, hemiplegia, incontinence, dysphagia, sight and hearing loss and mobility issues.
This wealth of experience enables me not only to provide high quality care, but also to learn and fit in with your routine as swiftly and seamlessly as possible - an important consideration when choosing cover for your regular carer.
I hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, and my annual mandatory training is all up to date. I am fully insured and registered with the DBS update service.
I enjoy working in care because of the constantly evolving challenge of providing a high quality service and the satisfaction of working with amazing individuals to help them continue to lead lives they love. Above all, I love being able to bring hope and support in the face of circumstances that can feel overwhelming.
Everyone is different and finding the right care is an extremely personal choice. Getting to know you or your loved one so that I can provide care that really works for you is one of the most rewarding parts of my job and I’m always happy to have a chat about what you might need whether or not you decide to proceed with a booking.
