My rates per day start at £850 per week based on a 8am to 8pm shift with 2hours off away from the premises. My rates mean that had a fully experienced Carer I’m being paid the very basic of a minimum wage which live in carers are entitled to by law . Any hours out of the pattern mentioned are charged at £12.50 per hour . Living In with the client from 8pm to 8am is done to offsets against board and food .
When agencies in this field understand that live in Carer will no longer accept poor pay for long hours then I can guarantee that they will get the creme De creme If carers like myself .
