Working in the service industry has provided me with a platform to acquire and refine transferable skills. As a loving parent, qualified teacher and experienced caregiver, the dynamic nature of these environments have enabled me to cultivate strong multi-tasking abilities and effective time-management skills to keep up with the transient evolution of the healthcare system.
My actual experiences are listed in the body of this document, but my contributions are diverse and in a constant state of flux. I am always taking on new challenges, pushing myself out of my comfort zone and feeling tremendous satisfaction in helping those who are struggling emotionally, physically and mentally. I see each interaction as a doorway to transformation and this expanded mindset has blessed me with the most rewarding work opportunities.
I realised quite soon in my career that the emphasis of caregiving has always been on the physicality of the work but, people are suffering on so many different levels. This prompted me to see how I could address this concern by fully collaborating with my clients in a way that puts them back in the driving seat. Completing a recognized counselling and mental health awareness qualification seemed like the most obvious action to take in the hope of upscaling my basic skills and improving my service delivery.
I am a proverbial student and am always in the process of becoming…
I believe that there is no higher purpose than to be of service to humanity and I am driven to expand my caregiving portfolio by becoming more resourceful, welcoming new experiences and fully embracing a deeper connection with my clients.
